Profit per order
—
- Margin
- Markup
- Monthly profit
- Total costs per order
- All fees
- Net cost of returns
- Cost per kept sale
How this is calculated
- Revenue = selling price + shipping charged, without tax. With tax-inclusive prices, tax = price − price ÷ (1 + rate).
- Each fee is charged on the base you choose, so a 15% fee on a tax-inclusive price is larger than on the net price.
- Returns: the refunded share of revenue is lost, the product goes back into stock, and the cost of one return is added for each returned order.
- Profit = revenue kept − product cost − order costs − fees − return handling. Margin = profit ÷ revenue kept. Markup = profit ÷ total costs.
- Break-even and target prices are solved exactly, including fee minimums and caps, then rounded up to the next cent so the target is never missed.
Assumptions
- One item per order.
- Fees are not refunded on returns.
- Costs are entered without VAT you can reclaim.
- Item and shipping use the same tax rate.
